"I Like Your Glasses, Adam"

Adam wore his giraffe sunglasses to the museum the other day. Several times people told him, "Adam, I like your sunglasses." Adam was in a grumpy mood that morning; he either ignored the comments or responded with general irritation. Mary Mac kept telling him, "Adam, when somebody compliments your glasses you need to say 'Thank you.'"

We got home, and Adam decided to apply what he had learned. He walked into the kitchen and said, "Mommy, I like your kitchen." When she was silent, he said, "You need to say 'Thank you.'"
