A mid September night in Texas might be one of the most country things you ever experience. The weather is amazing. The sky is beautiful- the moon full and bright in the open sky. And the parking lots are full of trucks playing country music.
Tonight as I was walking to get the laundry, I noticed there were 19 cars in the parking lot between our building and the clubhouse. Of those 19 cars can you guess how many were trucks? Eleven, not counting the one that was pulling out.
Another Texas thing that I have yet to mention is that as hot it is here do you know that you will find more doughnut shops than ice cream places? Even with something as amazing as Texas made bluebell ice cream. Now I might be biased but their doughnuts do not touch east coast doughnuts. I talked with one doughnut owner and he said that the doughtnuts we eat back east don't sell out here. Unbelievable. They really are so much better where we come from. I will send you one if you don't believe me. They never taste fresh, they are never beautifully round, and no one sells chocolate doughnuts. On more than one occasion I have asked for a chocolate doughnut and they give me a glazed doughnut with chocolate icing.
